Tallow was the original skin balm long before big pharma began concocting expensive creams and lotions that often contain hormones and carcinogens. Over time, the influence of pharmaceutical company’s propaganda took control and the fickle public began to embrace it, turning a blind eye to the time honored nutrition and healing power in tallow. Getting back to the basics reminds us that nature always provides the best remedies.

The super nutrient area around a grass fed cow’s kidney is called suet. It is rendered into tallow and is naturally nutritious, containing vitamins A, D, E, and K.  Also present is Conjugated Linoleic Acid (CLA) which is an incredible anti-inflammatory, as well as Palmitoleic acid, which is an antimicrobial. The tallow to human fatty acid profiles are similar, so all that topically applied nutrition is absorbed efficiently through the skin. The other amazing thing about the fatty acids profile is that all this goodness is naturally preserved... no artificial preservatives! Oh, and one more important point. Grass-fed tallow is expensive, but is of utmost importance because the CLA presence is not diminished as it is in grain-fed cows.
